Yeti Tundra 65
Let’s first take a look at the market leader Yeti Tundra 65.
People who are Yeti lovers don’t accept Ozark as a competitor at all and call it a clone as they believe Yeti offers them a good value for money, durability and a great performance. They are satisfied with the performance and durability of the brand.
New customers, who seek coolers like Yeti but on a budget buy Ozark, and are satisfied with the performance too.
Some who are not much into product technicalities even consider it a close competitor of Yeti and a value for their money.
Product Description
Now, the Yeti cooler has a really fat wall that helps insulate more than two inches of ice easily. There is a permafrost foam lining that ensures that the ice will not melt for a long time.
Also, the rotomolded construction makes the product durable against a lot of abuse and damage and can be taken to any kind of location.
The customers find it very helpful that the product has a T-Rex lid on top which latches on perfectly and seals the box tightly ensuring that the ice stays dry and doesn’t melt in a couple of hours.
Also, the LipGrip handles makes it very easy to be carried along. Along with these handles are the double haul handles that are made of durable military grade polyester ropes which are very strong and do not break off easily so you can pull your cooler with you wherever needed.
The unit or box is leak proof and has a very smartly designed drainage system for quick drainage which does not mess up with the handles.
However, as the ice stays intact for more than 8 days inside this product, you may easily use it as a cooler for quite some time and even when the ice melts after 9 days the water stays cool for another few days so you may even extend your camping trip if you like.
The Biggest Setback for Users
But, this product is a high priced niche product and this is the only hurdle that many budget buyers have to walk away from this highly effective, durable product.
Ozark Trail 73 Cooler
On the other hand, we have the Ozark trail coolers that are gaining a lot of popularity among the budget buyers or masses.
Product Description
In appearance, the Ozark Trail looks quite similar to the Yeti Tundra 65 but a closer technical look shows the difference as the materials used and the method of construction of this device is not as smartly done as that of the Yeti Tundra 65.
Ozark Trail 73 has a premium insulation system which keeps the ice in its original form for 9 days too. However many customers are not satisfied with this description.
It also has a rotomolded construction but without seams and so it is quite resistant to Ultraviolet lights which are good.
There is a locking plate too that is made of industrial stainless steel which is quite a good material to use as a locking plate. The handles are heavy duty, and easy to grip on and carry.
The product has recently received a bear-resistant certificate too so it’s sure that no kind of bear can sneak into it and take your food supplies away in the forest while you camp outdoors.
Another interesting feature is that the cooler can be converted into a small table as it has four cup holders and a fish scale on its top which also makes the camping experience easier as you will not have to take foldable tables and chairs, rather you can sit on the ground around the table and enjoy a meal in the natural environment. The latches are secure, the handles are heavy duty.
A big hurdle
Unfortunately, this product doesn’t use durable polyester ropes but normal ropes like that of a backpack and are prone to wear and tear unlike the Yeti Tundra but price-conscious customers are happy with it anyways.

Our Opinion
If you are an all year round traveler and need a good quality, portable cooler on long-term bases then Yeti gives you a lot of value for money and a much more durable, functional product. It is also lighter in weight and has good handling system which is shock resistant and powerful and will not break easily.
Ozark is striving hard to come on the same level as Yeti but is still not as perfect. It claims to have a temperature maintenance system and that the food can stay fresh and frozen for as long as 8 days but customers have claimed otherwise.
In case, you are a “not so often” traveler and rarely need a cooler then you may go for Ozark as it’s cheaper in price and functions quite well. But wherever you go both these products will surely give you a good traveling experience and will keep your drinks cold, your food dry and your ice intact for at least a week.
